Manchester City may have to make do without Phil Foden again with the England international still not feeling his best
Phil Foden is expected to miss Manchester City's trip to West Ham while Rodri and Mateo Kovacic could be included.
Foden was absent from the City squad to take on Ipswich on Saturday with illness, and Pep Guardiola revealed in his press conference ahead of the West Ham game that the England midfielder still does not feel good. Despite coming on at half-time in the first Premier League game of the campaign, Foden could miss his second straight game if he is unable to recover in time for Saturday teatime.
Rodri has been slowly working his way back into contention after a prolonged rest following Spain's win in the European Championship and has trained with the squad this week for the first time since his return. Mateo Kovacic suffered an injury against Ipswich yet has been back with the group as well.ALSO READ: New striker, Nunes decision - What to expect from City on transfer deadline day
Both will hope to be in contention to face West Ham, and Guardiola does not have concerns over any other players. Jack Grealish is fully fit again having come off the bench against Ipswich. City top the table after two games after they followed a 2-0 win with Chelsea with a 4-1 win at home to Ipswich. West Ham is the final Premier League game before the September international break, with midweek fixtures hitting the group as soon as domestic football returns.
