A man was stopped for vehicle code violations. A consent search of his backpack revealed drug paraphernalia and psilocybin.
VEHICLE THEFT, UNDER INFLUENCE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: 7:02 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue. Officers were dispatched to an attempted theft of a semi truck. The suspect was contacted while fleeing the area and detained. She displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of a narcotic

Field sobriety tests were performed, and he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Another man was deemed too intoxicated to care for himself and was arrested for being drunk in public.
