A motorist has died in a collision after failing to stop for police in Bolton
.He failed to stop for officers on Manchester Road before crashing on the approach to the Chequerbent roundabout, police said.
The driver died at the scene and the incident has been referred to the Independent Office of Police Conduct. Inspector Danny Byrne, of Greater Manchester Police, said:"Sadly a man has lost his life as a result of this collision and his family will be supported by specially trained officers."As enquiries progress, I would appeal for any witnesses or anyone with any information that could assist our investigation to please get in touch.
