A man was found dead near a branch of Starbucks this morning. Police said that officers were called to Rainford Road, near Windle Island off the East Lancs Road in St Helens earlier today.
Officers confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with his death. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that emergency services were at a premises on Rainford Road in St Helens this morning, Sunday 9 June, following the death of a man.
