Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich says Phillip Mendoza, 62, agreed to a plea deal on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and three counts of felonious assault. All of the charges are felonies and including gun specifications.The shooting happened at a home in East Akron on Aug. 2, 2020. Akron police say two people shot at a man and woman as they were getting out of a car in the driveway on the 1200 block of Fifth Avenue at about 9:30 p.m.
Family members described Tyree as a sweet, smart and caring baby who loved to dance and recite the alphabet. “He would often clap his hands and beat his dad up like a little fighter with a lot of power,” according to his obituary. “He also loved to play with toy phones, watch television and play with other kids, and he loved to be around his parents.”
