A man is in hospital after a car caught fire following a serious multi-vehicle collision in Fife . Emergency services responded to the three- car crash at Preston Roundabout in Glenrothes at approximately 9:45 am on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered a 50-year-old man who had sustained injuries. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, and his current condition remains undisclosed.

Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze that engulfed one of the vehicles. The road was subsequently closed for about an hour before being reopened at 10:45 am. Police Scotland confirmed that a 35-year-old man involved in the accident will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for a driving offense. A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated, 'At 9:45 am on Wednesday, 12 February, 2025, we received reports of a three vehicle crash at Preston Roundabout, Glenrothes. Emergency services attended and Scottish Fire and Rescue extinguished a car on fire. 'A 50 year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. The road closed for an hour and was reopened at 10:45am. A 35-year-old man will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for a driving offence.
