Police were called following a report of an alleged assault in the Springfield Road area, in the west of the city, on Friday evening, November 3. It is claimed a man was assaulted by a stranger in what police believe was an "unprovoked attack".
“The victim sustained injuries to his ear and body before being threatened with a knife. Officers attended and a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and threats to kill. He remains in custody at this time.
