Arsenal are on the brink of winning the Premier League title and much of their success has been built on a solid defence - something Steve McClaren told Mikel Arteta to address
In 2019, now Manchester United coach Steve McClaren identified which areas Mikel Arteta had to focus on at Arsenal - and now the Gunners are competing with Manchester City.
When asked about the areas Arteta has to improve at Arsenal, McClaren said: "All he needs to do is address their attitudes in terms of when they haven't got the ball. "That's his philosophy. I think he can instil that at Arsenal, he can tweak Arsenal in terms of defenders, which I think they definitely need.
Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior were brought on board in the following campaign, while William Saliba was also promoted to the first team after three seasons out on loan. One key recent signing has been Declan Rice, who has played a vital role in midfield this season.
