BREAKING: Man who owned the Ritz will not be jailed 'for owing ex-wife £100,000,000'
The ex-wife of businessman Sir Frederick Barclay has failed to prove he is in contempt of court as a result of not paying tens of millions of pounds owed to her following the breakdown of their marriage.
He had considered the latest stage of a dispute over money between Sir Frederick and Lady Barclay at a public hearing in the Family Division of the High Court in London. Sir Jonathan said he would consider what the consequences of Sir Frederick’s breaches of orders relating to legal fees and maintenance might be at a hearing on August 11.Lady Barclay said Sir Frederick has breached orders after being told to pay her more than £100 million following the breakdown of their 34-year marriage, and was therefore in contempt of court.
