Josh Bowler has failed to settle at the City Ground and may well be on the move before the end of the transfer window
Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom has been asked about Nottingham Forest's Josh Bowler, after he was linked with the Lancashire side.
After the Lilywhites' victory at Harrogate in the Carabao Cup last night, Heckingbottom said: “Honestly, we have been looking and speaking about lots of different players. It’s all ‘what-ifs’ really, because like I say it is foolish not to. If an opportunity arises and it’s something we can do, we need to be prepared to do it. So, that has been our situation.

After a spell on loan at Hull, he joined Blackpool in 2021 - after his best season; returning figures of seven goals in 42 Championship appearances for the Tangerines. A year later he arrived at Forest, only to be immediately loaned to sister club Olympiacos - through Evangelos Marinakis’ ownership of both clubs.
