Pictures shared with the Manchester Evening News taken outside Terminal 2 Arrivals show huge numbers of passengers outside the main doors with their luggage, with fire engines seen parked up in the distance.It has now been confirmed that shortly afterwards, the incident was deemed to have been accidental and passengers were allowed back inside safely.
