The report suggests that Sporting anticipate the deal to be worth €60m (£50.1m), and Manchester United have been eager to finalize the move in preparation for next season.Quenda, a highly regarded prospect, began his youth career at Benfica's academy before transitioning to Sporting at the age of 13 in 2019. He signed his first professional contract with Sporting in August 2023 and subsequently made his first-team debut under Amorim a year later. Quenda has quickly established himself as a key player in Amorim's system, primarily operating as a right wing-back for Sporting. It is anticipated that he would take on a similar role at Manchester United. In September, Quenda's impressive performances earned him a new contract, extending his stay at Sporting until 2027. As part of this agreement, his release clause was significantly increased from €45m (£37.6m) to €100m (£83.6m). Speaking prior to his move to United, Amorim had assured Sporting that he would not sign any of their players during the January transfer window.
