Manchester United have confirmed that Luke Shaw will miss the start of the Premier League season
Manchester United have announced that left-back Luke Shaw is set to miss the start of the season with a calf injury.
In a statement released by the club on their website, they wrote: "Luke Shaw will miss the opening games of the Premier League season due to a calf injury sustained at the start of pre-season training. He is working hard on his rehabilitation with a view to being available after the first international break.
There were question marks around the star, who took three weeks off after England were beaten in Berlin, and who hasn't been pictured in training once since his return to Carrington last Monday. He also missed first-team training sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday ahead of Saturday's Community Shield match against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.
