Manchester United are actively trying to sell midfielder Casemiro before the transfer deadline. The 32-year-old has fallen out of favor under manager Ruben Amorim and faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have been actively seeking potential buyers for Casemiro ahead of the approaching transfer deadline. The club has contacted several agents to explore the possibility of selling the 32-year-old midfielder. Casemiro, who has 18 months remaining on his United contract, has found himself increasingly excluded from the starting lineup. In recent Europa League matches against Rangers and FCSB, 21-year-old Toby Collyer was preferred over Casemiro.
United head coach Ruben Amorim only introduced Casemiro in the second half against FCSB after his team had established a 2-0 lead, marking his first appearance in a month. The former Real Madrid midfielder has slipped to sixth choice in the midfield, with Bruno Fernandes playing a deeper role and Christian Eriksen featuring in both Europa League games. When questioned about Casemiro's omission from the Rangers match, Amorim stated: 'He has to have the characteristics and then I have to choose the player with characteristics that I see in the game. So it’s just that. I have to make some choices. I want to play a style of game that is sometimes different from other coaches and I have to choose based on that, that’s all.' United acquired Casemiro from Madrid for £60 million, potentially reaching £70 million, in August 2022. He signed a four-year contract with the option of an additional year. To avoid incurring a financial loss before the deadline and adhere to the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules, United would need an improbable fee of £22.5 million for Casemiro
