Seidler noted the Padres have a waitlist for season tickets and that the team projects 49 sellouts of 81 home dates. Asked how he balances short-term profitability with long-term equity growth, Seidler said, “we want both, we expect both.” In his answer about contract limits, Manfred noted that the inflexibility of long-term deals impacts what happens on the field. In a different answer Tuesday, he suggested that money doesn’t promise anything.
