Marseille have ended their interest in Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier , according to reports in France. L’Equipe claim the French side have deemed the shot-stopper as too expensive and will look for alternative targets.
New Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi had been keen to bring Meslier back to his native France as part of his new-look Marseille side, but reports suggest he had had second thoughts and won't be making any approach. READ MORE: Leeds United closing in on fourth summer signing with £5m deal 'agreed' However, Meslier remains No 1 choice for Daniel Farke, and news of Marseille's decision will no doubt go down well within the Leeds camp. The Whites could still lose some first-team players before the transfer window closes, with Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto the subject of interest from Premier League clubs.
Meslier has already made 175 appearances for Leeds United and kept 21 clean sheets in 44 appearances for Farke's side last season as they made it to the play-off final.
