MoneySavingExpert's Martin Lewis has issued an urgent warning to anyone with money in a savings account, urging them to check their rate today
Martin Lewis is calling on millions with funds in savings or cash ISA accounts to urgently review their interest rates, as they may be missing out on better returns. The money-saving expert highlighted that any rate below 4 per cent is simply not sufficient.
He acknowledged that many people hesitate to transfer their savings to a bank they don't regularly use or aren't familiar with. However, Martin emphasised that "saving is all about risk-free money", and the choice of institution should be based on the interest it offers, not brand familiarity. He continued: "So today I want to show that even if you aren't comfortable with 'I've never heard of em' firms, many can still massively boost what they earn using big-name top savings. Check your savings rates today, owt below 4% isn't enough.", reports the Daily Record.
