The personal finance expert has warned over the dangers of using certain debit cards
Money-saving guru Martin Lewis has delivered a stark caution regarding the use of 'danger cards', a term he coined for debit cards that are linked to an overdraft on your current account, as opposed to using a credit card.
On his ITV programme, The Martin Lewis Money Show Live, he explained that while the typical bank loan has an APR of under 8 percent APR, the average credit card interest rate soars to around 19 per cent APR. "With a money transfer card you apply for a new card and it pays the money into the bank account for you so you can get rid of your overdraft, you now owe the card. It's best for large overdrafts, you need a decent credit history.
