Martin Roberts has been a host on the BBC series Homes Under The Hammer for almost 20 years and has seen his fair share of strange properties, but one incident in particular sticks in his mind
Martin Roberts, the presenter of Homes Under The Hammer, has shared a chilling memory from his time on the show when a crew member believed they had found a dead body in a house they were filming. Martin, who has been a part of the BBC property auction series since 2003 and has featured in over 700 episodes, has seen hundreds of houses through the programme.
"Almost like the kettle was still hot kind of thing and we went in and then the director went and had a look around. And she came out absolutely ashen in the face. And she said, 'There is a dead body! There's a dead body in the bed'." Martin recounted: "And then this old man sat bolt upright, no teeth and said, 'Where's my family? ' and the people had left in such a rush that they forgot grandad. Grandad was still sleeping in the bed. The family had left. The house had been sold. He's suddenly faced with film crew from homes under."
