Police in County Tyrone are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Dungannon. A masked male wielding a knife forced entry into an apartment building, waking a man and woman inside before fleeing with their belongings.

Police in County Tyrone are conducting an investigation into a reported aggravated burglary that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, January 28th. The incident was reported shortly after 4:00 am. According to reports, a masked male, clad in a black hoodie and wielding a knife, gained unauthorized entry to an apartment building situated on Ballygawley Road in Dungannon . He managed to force open a communal door before proceeding to enter one of the apartments.

A man and a woman residing in the apartment were awakened by the intruder standing in their bedroom. Upon confronting the intruder, the male occupant of the apartment challenged him. This prompted the suspect to flee the scene on foot, heading in the direction of Newell Road. During the course of the burglary, he made off with a mobile phone and several bank cards belonging to the occupants. A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) stated that detectives are actively pursuing the investigation and are appealing for any information or dash-cam/CCTV footage that could prove helpful to their inquiry. Individuals with relevant information are urged to contact the Dungannon PSNI station at 101, citing reference number 120 28/01/25.
