Finley Cook had passed the group when fighting broke out in Railway Road, but turned back when violence erupted
A man accused of murdering Matthew Daulby in a street brawl in Ormskirk had already passed the group from Maghull "without problems", a court heard.
The jury has been shown CCTV of the brawl which saw 10 men, who had travelled from Maghull, fighting with Cook, Houghton and another man. During the fight, Matthew suffered a fatal stab wound to his chest. He was taken to Aintree University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.Another man also suffered a knife wound during the fight, which took place around midnight. Several others suffered injuries which did not require medical attention.
He then left the ginnel and walked past the Maghull group on Railway Road. The footage showed Cook speaking with a member of the group and holding his hands up as he passed. He then carried on along Railway Road with his back to the group.
