Charlton Athletic sign Coventry City striker Matty Godden for an undisclosed fee.
The 32-year-old has spent the past five years at Coventry, scoring 50 goals in 156 games after joining from Peterborough United.Alfie May left The Valley on Tuesday to join League One rivals Birmingham City.
"Matt's a fantastic acquisition for the football club - he has proven pedigree and is a proven goalscorer at every level he has played," Charlton boss Nathan Jones"We've chased him all summer and he's shown a real desire to want to come and sign for the football club, so I'm delighted he's joining us."
Godden scored nine goals for Coventry last season and helped the Sky Blues reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup, having also been part of the side that won promotion to the Championship in 2020."Matty has made a significant contribution to our rise up the leagues, including being integral to our League One title win and then establishing ourselves in the Championship.
