Max Verstappen has won the Formula One Australian Grand Prix for Red Bull in a dramatic race that saw three red flags and five drivers disqualified.

Max Verstappen has won this year’s Formula One Australian Grand Prix for Red Bull in a dramatic race in which eight drivers failed to finish.The Dutch world champion retook the lead on lap 12 after overtaking Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton who finished the race second.Third spot on the podium went to Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso. Melbourne-born Oscar Piastri finished in eighth position to score his first points in Formula One.

On race day, more than 131,000 attended Albert Park for what was Piastri’s first race in an F1 car in front of a home crowd. It was the Victorian capital’s second-highest race day attendance, second only to the city’s first race in 1996 which had a race day attendance of 154,000.Melbourne’s race was the third of the F1 season. Verstappen won the season opener in Bahrain, while teammate Sergio Perez won the second race in Saudi Arabia.after cancelling the event for two years in a row.
