Maynilad Water Services Inc., the concessionaire for the West Zone, is making significant strides in its P4.84 billion Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) project in Las Piñas City. This crucial undertaking aims to bolster wastewater services and contribute to the revitalization of Manila Bay. Currently, the Las Piñas WRF stands at 33% completion and is projected to commence operations by July 2026.

Upon its activation, the facility will be capable of treating up to 88 million liters of wastewater daily, catering to approximately 360,000 residents across 20 barangay (villages) in Las Piñas City.The Las Piñas WRF will leverage advanced Anaerobic-Anoxic-Oxic technology to effectively eliminate pollutants. The facility is meticulously designed to adhere to the Water Quality Guidelines and General Effluent Standards of 2016. This project is a cornerstone of Maynilad's broader initiative to expedite the implementation of sewerage and sanitation services across Metro Manila. Funded through a collaborative effort between the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Development Bank of the Philippines, the WRF exemplifies Maynilad's unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and public well-being through enhanced wastewater management.Maynilad's dedication to this sector is evident in its substantial investments since 2007, exceeding P46.4 billion, aimed at upgrading wastewater infrastructure across its concession area. The company currently operates 22 Sewage Treatment Plants, two Sewage and Septage Treatment Plants, and one Septage Treatment Plant. This latest facility stands as a testament to Maynilad's continuous pursuit of environmental responsibility and the betterment of public health through improved wastewater management practices
