Meghan Markle has thrown “caution to the wind” at the 2023 Invictus Games in Germany by deviating from protocols usually followed by members of the royal family, according to one royal commentator.

The Duchess of Sussex was snapped drinking beer and taking pictures with delighted fans at the multisport event for injured servicemen and women being held in Dusseldorf.

The pair were photographed looking loved-up as they got cosy while watching the wheelchair basketball final from the stands last week. “Clearly, she was very relaxed, she had amazing photo opportunities. And she really seemed to get in the spirit, she was drinking beer, she was hugging athletes. The couple looked loved-up as they cheered on the competitors.
