Melbourne’s $10 billion airport rail link is under threat after a reversal from the federal Infrastructure Minister.
The state Deputy Opposition Leader David Southwick has pushed for this project to go ahead, saying it could help Victoria and Melbourne become a bigger destination.
The initial timeline for the project was for it to be completed in 2029 – however, the Andrews government has indicated it could be pushed back by two years.
