Rail services on the Headbolt Lane line in Merseyside are facing cancellations and alterations due to a broken-down train at Fazakerley station. Merseyrail , the operator of the line, confirmed the disruption and stated that the issue is expected to continue until 8am on Wednesday, February 12. Rail replacement buses have been requested to run between Aintree and Headbolt Lane , calling at Fazakerley and Kirkby, but they are not yet in operation.
Merseyrail has since provided updates on the situation. They confirmed that the broken-down train has been moved and services are gradually resuming on the line. However, passengers are advised that train cancellations and alterations may still occur as Merseyrail works to restore the normal timetable. The 0911 Headbolt Lane to Liverpool Central service is scheduled to be the first to operate under the restored timetable.In addition to the Headbolt Lane line disruption, there are also issues on the Southport line.
