Cooler temperatures, wind and rain will feature in the forecast over the coming days, but what will the long weekend look like?
The Met Office has issued its latest verdict on how long the 'autumnal' weather will last as the UK looks forward to a long weekend.
He said this combination of weather leads to "a strengthened jet stream", which is what we will see over the coming days. "That means more wind and more rain," he said. The UK will see "a windier spell over the next few days" as well as "a very wet spell for north western parts of the UK Wednesday into Thursday and as well as into Friday", he added.
"When it arrives during the second half of Wednesday and into Thursday its pumping a lot of warmth and moisture from the tropics and that leads to an enhancement of the rainfall across parts of the UK," he explained.
