Met Office says more thunderstorms are coming to Lancashire with mixed weather forecast for the week ahead
Lancashire is set for another mixed week of summer weather as forecasters predict the return of thunderstorms and torrential rain along with some sunny spells.
It comes after the Met Office issued an eight-hour yellow weather warning for storms on Sunday. Temperatures in the UK were predicted to beat the current record for the hottest day of the year of 32.2C set on June 10 despite the stormy conditions. Monday will start off cloudy with the chance of some rain before turning sunnier for most places in the afternoon. However residents should make the most of sunny spell while they can as maps from the Met Office show a 'wall of water' will hit the region on Monday evening and into Tuesday morning. The rain will sweep eastwards before more rain is expected on Wednesday morning. The skies will clear later in the week with the best of the sunshine on Friday.
Temperatures will plunge at the start of next week from highs of 25C on Sunday to 18C on Monday.
