The Met Office has warned people to stay up to date with the forecast as the weather is set to turn more unsettled with rain and snow expected to feature in the coming days
The familiar phrase "as changeable as the weather" rings particularly true for Brits in the coming days. Met Office forecasters have indicated that the current spell of high pressure and dry conditions is about to shift.
Provisional Met Office data up to 11 November shows 8.3 hours of sunshine, just 14% of the UK's full month average, when typically around 37% would be expected by this time. Additionally, the UK has experienced its driest start to November on record, dating back to 1891, with an average rainfall of only 3.5mm, which is just 3% of the monthly average.
Deputy Chief Meteorologist at the Met Office, Mark Sidaway, explained: "The high pressure that has been responsible for the mainly dry weather through much of this week will retrogress into the Atlantic as we get towards the weekend.
