The forecaster said the rest of the week 'will remain changeable'
The Met Office has issued their verdict on the chances of snow hitting the UK this week after reports of a '78-hour snow blast'.
The agency, which uses Metdesk data, said the heaviest snow would be seen in parts of Lancashire and the Lake District on Monday and Thursday , and East Ayrshire and Lanarkshire. However, the latest Met Office forecasts shows now snow in the North West, however it does hint at snow for Scotland.The website says about Monday's weather: "Generally cloudy with periods of rain, occasionally quite heavy. Some drier intervals for many but some locally persistent rain over the higher ground.
The outlook for Wednesday to Friday states: "The rest of the week will remain changeable with sunny or clear spells interspersed with heavy blustery showers. Windy at times with temperatures near to average."
