Some UK weather forecasters are predicting a potentially record-breaking heatwave for September. Advanced weather modelling maps indicate temperatures could soar above 30C at the start of next month. The GFS model points to September 1 as the climax of this hot spell, with the possibility of the south-east of England experiencing highs of 31C.
Madden highlighted the likelihood of "hot to extreme temperature developments during the next week and throughout early September", mentioning the potential for "high-30Cs" temperatures. But how does this compare with the latest Met Office forecasts? Nevertheless, the Met Office says: "That said, weak frontal systems could still provide some cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain at times, this most likely in more western and northwestern areas, although any amounts of rain away from the far northwest will be typically fairly small."
