The UK is experiencing its hottest day of the year today
The Met Office has given its verdict on how long the hot weather will last in Greater Manchester as August approaches.
"Today is forecast to be the day of peak heat of this mini spell of higher temperatures. Tomorrow equivalent values are expected to be lower by around 5C coming in at around 23C. Saturday’s highest temperature will be 28 or 29C, with the warmest spells likely to be seen in the east and south-east of England. On Sunday the weather will have a cooler, fresher feel to it, but it will still be warm and mostly dry.
