It comes into force on Sunday
It's a cold day today in Northamptonshire, but the temperatures are showing no sign of rising over the next few days. Local forecaster NNweather confirmed today was the coldest morning for 12 years with lows of -12C in some areas.
In Northamptonshire on Sunday a period of "rain and snow" falling on surfaces could lead to icy conditions.There will "probably be some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths" according to the forecaster. There is a chance that road, air and rail services could be disrupted or delayed.
He said: “Over the last week, the UK has been held in a northerly airflow bringing cold, sometimes Arctic air, to the UK. We will still have this northerly influence to our weather patterns until the weekend, but then the cold conditions will lose exclusive dominance over the UK’s weather patterns.
