The 18-hour snow weather warning by the Met Office is upgraded to amber from a previous yellow alert
A yellow weather warning for snow in Yorkshire over the weekend has been upgraded to 'Amber'. The warning - cranked up just under 34 hours before the warning comes into play from 9pm on Saturday evening - is set to last until midnight on Sunday, January 5.
The snow prediction has sparked a further warning from the Met Office suggesting some rural communities, town and villages could get cut off due to roads and rail networks becoming inaccessible. It is not yet known if the incoming snow will settle but weather experts are predicting a barrage of the white stuff this weekend - and more could be on the way.
