The survey, which polled over 1,500 UK tourists about their experiences in cities outside of Europe, assessed almost 2,500 destinations across seven categories, including cultural attractions, accommodation, food and drink, ease of getting around, and value for money.
Miami received a dismal customer score of 56%, far below Cape Town, which topped the list with a score of 91%. Visitors criticized the city for being 'overrated' and 'expensive,' with particularly low ratings for food and drink, accommodation, and value for money. Despite these criticisms, Miami's shopping options earned the highest rating of three stars.While Miami's reputation as an expensive destination is well-founded, it's possible to travel there on a budget. According to budgetyourtrip.com, daily expenses in Miami range from $106 (£85) to $597 (£482), depending on your spending habits. A one-week trip for one person can cost around $1,806 (£1,458), while a trip for two people would be approximately $3,612 (£2,916). Accommodation costs vary depending on location and type, with budget-friendly options starting at around £76.44 per night for a three-star hotel. Street food offers a more affordable dining option, costing around $8-15 (£6-12), while mid-range restaurants typically range between $15-35 (£12-28) per person. Transportation costs can also be kept low by utilizing the Metrorail and Metrobus system, which has a daily fare cap of £4.44 ($5.65). For those seeking budget-friendly experiences, Miami offers attractions like La LeGGenda Pizzeria, known for its 'unbelievably tasty' pizza, and the Wynwood Shop, a boutique offering diverse items at reasonable prices.
