The health guru is aiming to help people limit their stress levels during the 'most miserable' months of the year.
Winter is just around the corner, and the idea of chilling temperatures and cold, dark nights may be a cause of concern for many people.
The diet expert, who is famed for popularising the Fast 800 and 5:2 diets, says that chronic stress can kill off certain cells in our body that are vital at staving off illnesses and even destroying cancers. "In one rather strange experiment, published in the journal Psychological Science in 2006, 16 married women were asked to go into a brain scanner and receive unpleasant electric shocks. Understandably, this made them stressed."
In terms of how long you should be hugging someone, Michael says that there is one certain amount of time that can "significantly" cause a drop in stress levels.
