A 37-year-old dad who lost his life in the Ballarat Gold Mine collapse was working"away from home to support his beloved six-year-old daughter".Emergency services were called to the mine on Woolshed Gully Drive at about 4.50pm on Wednesday afternoon after reports it had collapsed, trapping workers.
"This go fund me is to help raise money to be held in trust for his Princess, the absolute light of his life, his pride and joy, his everything,” the fundraiser reads. Police said the rockfall that killed Mr Hourigan occurred about 500 metres underground and 3km from the mine entry, with 29 workers managing to take refuge in a safety pod.
