The supermarket expects to stop 600 tonnes of expanded polystyrene being dumped every year
is ditching one of the most widely used plastics from all of its own-brand food and drink products, saving an estimated 600 tonnes of waste a year.
From today, the supermarket will ditch expanded polystyrene and will instead use cardboard boxes for pizzas and frozen goods. The chain was of the original signatories of WRAP UK’s Plastics Pact – an initiative aiming to get businesses to cut down on their plastic use.
