Supermarket giant Morrisons is experiencing widespread technical problems, leading to cancelled Christmas orders, pricing errors and website outages.
Morrisons has faced major technical difficulties today, resulting in canceled Christmas orders and customers missing out on expected discounts. The supermarket pinpointed problems, especially with its More Card loyalty program and click-and-collect service, which caused some shoppers to pay more at checkout. One customer complained on social media about being charged 69p for carrots instead of the anticipated 10p, reported by the Mirror.
Responding to the issue, a Morrisons spokesperson stated: 'If More Card prices are not registering, we will apply a 10% discount to the customer's entire shop.' The company also warned that home deliveries might be delayed and advised click-and-collect users to wait for email confirmation before going to the store. Adding to the chaos, the supermarket's website experienced a complete outage earlier, displaying a '502 Bad Gateway' error to visitors. Downdetector statistics further revealed over 300 reports of issues with Morrisons' Morecard. Morrisons has yet to respond to The Mirror's request for comment.
