A new mortuary has been approved for Oldham Central Mosque

An Oldham mortuary based in a run-down prefab building for more than 15 years will finally get a much-needed overhaul.

Oldham council approved an application submitted by the Central Mosque on Featherstall Road to build a three-storey brick building which will combine community, retail and funeral spaces. The basement will contain the mortuary, including a viewing room and cold stores, creating a space more suited to the needs of the Muslim community in Oldham.
