Drivers could be at risk of a serious fine as a result of condensation

Drivers across the UK have been advised to keep condensation in their vehicles under control as conditions are set to become more unstable.

Mark Tongue, co-founder of vehicle lease firm Select Car Leasing, warned that motorists who attempt to drive before the fog on their window has cleared up could risk a £100 on-the-spot fine and three points on their licence. If the fogging leads to an accident, the fine can skyrocket up to £2,500. “It’s created when warm, damp air inside the car meets the cold surface of your car’s windows. The moisture in the air cools and forms hundreds of tiny droplets of water on the inside of the glass, settling as a fog.
