Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount suffered a serious leg injury during a derby match against Manchester City, potentially sidelining him for months. The 24-year-old is expected to miss several weeks, and the club's manager, Ruben Amorim, acknowledges the long-term impact of the injury.
Mason Mount is sidelined with a serious leg injury, potentially missing months of action following an early departure just 14 minutes into Manchester United 's derby triumph over Manchester City earlier this month. Mount, who was visibly upset, saw his fitness woes compounded since his move from Chelsea to Old Trafford. TalkSPORT has suggested that the Champions League-winning midfielder may not make a comeback until March.
Ruben Amorim confirmed a 'several weeks' absence but gave indications of a grimmer timeline: 'I don't know the exact date, but it's going to be for long. And that's it, it's part of football and you continue.' The 39 year old is committed to aiding Mount's rehabilitation process and adapting him to the team's playing style during his recovery. Amorim elaborated on his support system: 'What I can do is to help Mase, to teach him how to play our game when he's recovering,' he added 'To try to use that time for him to think about different things. I think the worst part is that we don't have time to train like we should do, when you are recovering from a lot of injuries. 'With Mason Mount, we are going to help him. It is really hard for a player to be out for so long and is trying really hard, the same for me. If they try really hard, we will help them until the end.' Mount has already expressed his heartache over his latest injury setback. The England star is determined to bounce back and make an impact for United. 'Words can't portray how devastated I'm feeling right now, you could probably see the look on my face when it happened,' he shared after the incident. 'I knew what it meant. 'United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith. I've said this before, but I will continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won't stop until that's achieve
