Elsie Dot Stancombe's mum, Jenni, was told 'something awful has happened'.
A mum of one of the girls killed in the Southport stabbings has relived the devastating moment when she was told "something awful happened" at the dance studio.
The parents of the children have spoken of their grief and how they found out about the tragedy. Elsie’s mum, Jenni, told how her husband David dropped her off at the event at 10am. Jenni told The Sunday Times: “She was a Swiftie through and through. I watched her sit down and waved her off and I left her.”She said: “Something awful has happened. Somebody’s stabbed the kids. I said, ‘What do you mean?’ She went, ‘It’s really bad. You need to get here.’ ”“I just ran. I left the whole house open and got in the car. It’s a five-minute drive from ours and we must have got there in a minute.
