Hundreds of tributes have been paid to Annie Davies
Annie Davies died earlier this week following an illness, it was announced on social media. The "legend" founded Probe Records in 1971 with her former husband Geoff Davies.
"Always very stylish in black and leather, she had the look of Chrissy Hynde crossed with one of those great girl garage bands of the 1960s. She was like the Mum of Probe for all the staff and Baz Barry Shailes has done a wonderful tribute to her which I will share shortly. Other people described how Annie "changed the face of music" in the city. In on tribute, one person said: "Annie...you were so cool, and yet so warm to us. Thinking of the guys in Probe and the family." A second person said: "RIP Annie legend of Probe sad news."
