Roxanne Matthews is accused of assisting an offender in relation to the fatal shooting of Elle Edwards
A mum wept as she told a court that she was threatened at knifepoint in a park by 'four lads with balaclavas' following her arrest in connection with the murder of Elle Edwards . The 26-year-old beautician died after being shot outside the Lighthouse pub in Wallasey , Wirral , on Christmas Eve 2022. Connor Chapman was convicted of her murder in July last year and later jailed for life with a minimum term of 48 years.
This led to her own arrest in March 2023, at which point she 'maintained that he took the car without her permission'. Ms Snowdon continued: 'You were charged in December of last year. Have you told the truth in these proceedings now? What has changed since your interview last year?' Matthews said: 'Yeah. Obviously just the seriousness. The incident was always a serious incident, so I don’t want to say that. I never thought it would be possible to charge me.
