Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood said the evidence indicates that George B. Green, 27, of Chickasaw, pulled the trigger and that his cousin, Nathaniel Henderson Jr., aided and abetted the murder. Henderson, 25, of Mobile, testified Tuesday that he had nothing to do with that shooting. A jury on Wednesday acquitted him of shooting into an occupied vehicle. But jurors sided with prosecutors that he was equally responsible for the murder.Mobile County Assistant District Attorney Megan Everett told jurors during her opening statement that the victim “lived a street life” and carried a gun.

Defense attorney Jamie Connolly told jurors in her opening statement that it was Henderson who hid the gun in the air vent. She attributed her client’s statement to police to his desire to keep his cousin out of trouble.“But amid all the chaos, one thing is clear: The shooter had short dreds and a long gun,” she said.“George is not the one who has short dreds and a long gun,” she said. “Nathaniel Henderson was. And Nathaniel Henderson has been found guilty.
