Cases were heard mainly at the crown court
A fallen pop star brought to justice for historic abuse, a murder on one of the hottest days last year, and a blackmailing mother-of-five were amongst the cases before the courts in Nottingham this month.
Klodian Shenaj Klodian Shenaj, 49, was a member of a gang organising people smuggling to the UK across the Channel. Shenaj, of Broxtowe Street, Sherwood, admitted his involvement in the crossings from France and Belgium in October last year. The 33-year-old was further charged with breaching a community rehabilitation order after he missed a string of drug rehabilitation and probation appointments. Harcombe, 39, of Seagrave Avenue in Kirkby, admitted two counts of sexual assault and was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court. Gray, of Ollerton, pleaded guilty to possession of a knife in a public place, and pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman inside a flat in Ollerton on July 12.Jason Holden Nottingham thief Jason Holden, 42, was caught trying to steal from House of Fraser in the Victoria Centre. He later stole an elderly woman's car while on bail.
Laney Aikens 40, of Denman Street Central, Radford, was found guilty of assisting an offender after he dumped the murder weapon down a drain. He was sentenced to two-and-a-half years on Thursday, August 10.
