The pastry chef and cookbook author was the force behind Melbourne bakery Beatrix Bakes which closed as a shopfront in 2022, but continued as a small production kitchen until May 2023.The 51-year-old says any routine for her personal life was "pretty elusive" during her 32 years at the hospitality frontline."I think that everything I'm doing now is to accommodate the perimenopausal person that I am.

All my days in hospitality were pretty much determined by a whiteboard. It listed everything that we needed to get through in that day and set the whole week out. I've also got my hula hoop. I'll put that on and put on a couple of songs and have a little hula hoop around the lounge room. It's really fun and great for decompressing.Writer Danielle Gay shares the small daily and weekly rituals that have become part of her life since a break-up.My dad recently moved from Sydney at 93 years old, relocating to north-east Victoria.
