THE National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said the estimated damage to infrastructure and agriculture due to Severe Tropical Storm Paeng is now at P5.2 billion.In its latest situation report, the NDRRMC said damage to infrastructure is at P2,833,910,844.5.This covers 367 damaged roads, bridges, flood control systems, government-run health and utility facilities, and schools.
For agriculture, the estimated cost of damage is at P2,442,804,786.14.This covers 69,260.74 hectares of crops, affecting 59,831 farmers and fisherfolk.An estimated P87,380,252.87 worth of livestock, poultry and fisheries was also affected.Meanwhile, 15,162 houses were damaged - 12,968 partially and 2,194 totally.The NDRRMC also said the number of reported deaths is now at 150, with 128 injured and 36 missing.A total of 3,963,555 affected persons or 1,131409 families were affected by the storm.
